1. BHAVYA SCHEME 2026

Current Context: The Union Cabinet approved the BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana) Scheme to develop 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across India.

ABOUT BHAVYA SCHEME

  • Budget: ₹33,600 crore
  • Objective: Strengthen industrial infrastructure and manufacturing growth

KEY FEATURES

  • Development of industrial parks (100–1000 acres)
  • Financial assistance up to ₹1 crore per acre
  • Provides ready-to-use infrastructure like roads, drainage, utilities and digital connectivity
  • Includes factory sheds, testing labs and warehouses
  • Support for external infrastructure up to 25% of project cost

POLICY AND PROGRAMME

2. TRIBAL HOMESTAY CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM 2026

Current Context: India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) launched the Tribal Homestay Capacity Building Program 2026 in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

ABOUT PROGRAM

  • Aims to train and support tribal homestay owners across India.
  • Focuses on integrating tribal regions into mainstream tourism.

OBJECTIVES

  • Improve hospitality standards and service quality
  • Promote sustainable and community-based tourism
  • Generate employment and income opportunities
  • TRAINING AGENCY : IHM Ashok (training arm of ITDC)
  • PARTICIPATION: Initial batch includes participants from: Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim,Gujarat

ECONOMY

3. INDIA – WORLD’S 3RD LARGEST METRO NETWORK

Current Context: India has become the world’s third-largest metro network with over 1,143 km operational lines.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Metro network expanded to 29 cities (from 5 cities in 2014)
  • Around 936 km under construction
  • Serves ~11.5 million passengers daily

SIGNIFICANCE

4. PRAMBANAN TEMPLE

Current Context: India and Indonesia partnered for the restoration of Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta (Indonesia).

ABOUT PRAMBANAN TEMPLE

  • Largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia
  • Located in Sleman, Yogyakarta (Java)
  • Built in the 9th century by Sanjaya dynasty

DEDICATION

  • Dedicated to Hindu Trimurti: Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma

ARCHITECTURE

  • Influenced by Javanese and South Indian (Pallava) styles
  • Contains 240 temples
  • Main Shiva temple height: 47 metres
  • UNESCO STATUS : Declared a World Heritage Site in 1991

5. KALINJAR FORT

Current Context: The region around Kalinjar Fort (Uttar Pradesh) was declared a National Geo-Heritage Site by the Geological Survey of India.

ABOUT KALINJAR FORT

  • Located in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh
  • Situated in Vindhya Range near Ken River

HISTORY

  • Over 1500 years old
  • Developed during Gupta period
  • Later ruled by Chandela dynasty
  • Captured by Akbar in 1569
  • Later under Bundelas and British rule

FEATURES

  • Houses temples, mosques, palaces and stepwells
  • Famous for Neelkanth Temple (Shiva temple)

SCHEME

6. COCONUT PROMOTION SCHEME

Current Context: Union Budget 2026–27 announced a Coconut Promotion Scheme to boost coconut cultivation.

ABOUT COCONUT PRODUCTION

  • India is the largest producer of coconut (~30% of global production)

IDEAL CONDITIONS

  • Latitude: 23° North to 23° South
  • Temperature: 20°C – 32°C
  • Rainfall: 1000–2500 mm
  • Altitude: Up to 600 m
  • Soil: Sandy loam, laterite, coastal alluvial soils
  • Major Producer : Kerala,Tamil Nadu, Karnataka

OBJECTIVE OF SCHEME

  • Rejuvenate old coconut plantations
  • Expand cultivation in coastal regions
  • Improve productivity and farmer income
