3. ONETAG FACILITY

Current Context: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) introduced the OneTag FASTag portability service on the Rajmargyatra mobile app.

ABOUT ONETAG

• It allows users to change their FASTag issuing bank without replacing the existing physical FASTag sticker. The service was made available on the app on 17 September 2026
• Type:Digital interoperability framework (like MNP for FASTag)
• Developed by:IHMCL and NPCI
• Purpose:Migrate between issuer banks while keeping existing FASTag sticker, Tag ID intact

4. TULU GETS SECOND ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE LANGUAGE STATUS IN KARNATAKA

Current Context: Karnataka granted Tulu status of second additional administrative language in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

• Language Family: Dravidian language family.
• Main Region: Coastal Karnataka, particularly Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
• Tulu has a rich oral and literary tradition and is closely associated with the cultural identity of coastal Karnataka.
• Script: Tigalari is historically associated with Tulu manuscripts, while Kannada script is also used for writing Tulu.

Current Context: Tamil Nadu to launch one-gram gold ring scheme for newborns on 28 September 2026.

• Name: Thaaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam, meaning Maternal Uncle Gold Ring Scheme.
• Beneficiaries: Newborn babies born in government hospitals.
• Eligibility: Mothers must be permanent residents of Tamil Nadu and registered under the PICME system with an RCH Identification Number.

• 28 lakh gold rings ready for first batch
• Annual provision: ₹755.83 crore
