  • Why “Wet”: The term refers to loading cryogenic fuels such as liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen into the rocket
  • Objective: To test the readiness of launch systems, hardware, and ground teams under real launch conditions

  • Artemis II is an important upcoming mission under NASA’s Artemis program.
  • Mission Type: First crewed mission of the Artemis program

  • Significance: First human mission to travel to the Moon’s vicinity since 1972

3. PM–SURAJ PORTAL

Current Context: The PM–SURAJ portal disbursed loans worth Rs 1,389.61 crore to 1.39 lakh entrepreneurs during the financial year 2024–25, exceeding its target.

  • Full Form: Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan evam Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan
  • Launched By: Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

  • Objective: To provide virtual credit support to entrepreneurs from disadvantaged sections of society
  • Nature of Platform: Centralised digital portal for loan application and tracking
  • Eligibility: Only individuals planning to establish a new business can apply
  • Loan Facility: Business loans up to Rs 15 lakh at low interest rates
  • Fund Transfer Mechanism: Direct transfer to bank accounts through banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies – Micro Finance Institutions, and other financial institutions

  • National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation

5. LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS

Current Context: The Union Health Minister recently launched the Annual Nationwide Mass Drug Administration Campaign for the elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis.

  • Common Name: Elephantiasis (Haatipaon)
  • Disease Type: Neglected Tropical Disease
  • Transmission: Vector-borne disease
  • Vector: Female Culex mosquito
  • Cause: Infection by filarial nematodes (roundworms) of the family Filariodidea
  • Major Parasites Involved:
  • Wuchereria bancrofti – Responsible for about 90 percent of cases
  • Brugia malayi – Causes most of the remaining cases
  • Brugia timori – Also causes the disease
