Mizoram celebrates its Foundation Day on 20 February.

  • Year of statehood: 1987; Mizoram became the 23rd state of India on 20 February 1987.
  • Earlier status: Part of Assam as Lushai Hills District, then Union Territory from 1972 under the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971.
  • Constitutional basis: Statehood followed the 1986 Mizoram (Mizo) Peace Accord and was enabled by the 53rd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1986–87.

Observed annually on 20 February.

Objective: To support efforts to tackle poverty, unemployment, and social exclusion and to promote a “society for all” based on equality, equity, human rights, and decent work.

  • Efficiency: Reduces duplication of development efforts
  • Technology Benefit: Prevents vendor lock-in
  • Strategic Role: Expands BHASHINI capabilities into real-time speech and conversational Artificial Intelligence

  • Full Form: BHASHa Interface for India
  • Developed By: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under National Language Translation Mission
  • Core Function: Artificial Intelligence-based language translation platform
  • Objective: Build national digital public infrastructure for languages
  • Technology Base: Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing
  • Implementation: Digital India BHASHINI Division under Digital India Corporation
  • Language Coverage: Supports more than twenty-two Indian languages

7. BHARAT VISTAAR SCHEME

Current Context: The First Phase of Bharat VISTAAR was launched in Rajasthan to promote Artificial Intelligence-enabled advisory services for farmers.

  • Full Form: Virtually Integrated System to Access Agricultural Resources
  • Type: Artificial Intelligence-driven digital advisory platform
  • Objective: Promote Artificial Intelligence-based agricultural services
  • Integration: Links AgriStack, Indian Council of Agricultural Research resources, weather data, mandi prices, and government schemes
  • Access Mode: Farmers can use phones including feature phones
  • Benefit: Provides multilingual conversational agricultural guidance and market information
