2. INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY

• Observed every year on November 19.
• Aim: Promotes positive male role models, focuses on men’s mental and physical health, and highlights discrimination.
• Originated in Trinidad and Tobago in 1999 led by Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, honoring his father’s birthday.
• Theme: “Celebrating Men and Boys”.

3. INTEGRATED FORUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND TRADE (IFCCT)

Current Context: The COP30 Presidency has launched the Integrated Forum on Climate Change and Trade (IFCCT), the first permanent global platform dedicated to navigating rising tensions between trade policies and climate action.

ABOUT INTEGRATED FORUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND TRADE(IFCCT):

• A politically supported, non-negotiating global platform facilitating structured dialogue on the intersection of climate policies and international trade.
• Launched In: COP30, Belém (Brazil), on 15 November 2025.
• Aim: Provide a space to debate & coordinate solutions for climate-linked trade frictions such as:
  1. Carbon border adjustments
  2. Supply-chain disruptions
  3. Subsidies
  4. Industrial policy
  without the pressure of binding negotiations.

Current Context: The India–UK Joint Military Training Exercise ‘AJEYA WARRIOR-25’ began on 17 November 2025 at the Foreign Training Node, Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Rajasthan.

5. AFRICAN SWINE FEVER

Current Context: Assam banned inter-district movement of live pigs and prohibited pork sales in seven districts after a spike in African Swine Fever (ASF) cases.

ABOUT AFRICAN SWINE FEVER:

• A highly contagious viral hemorrhagic disease affecting domestic and wild pigs.
• Caused by the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) — a double-stranded DNA virus of Asfarviridae.
• No impact on humans, but up to 100% mortality in pigs.
• Transmission:
  1. Infected pigs
  2. Contaminated clothes, shoes, vehicles
  3. Soft ticks (Ornithodoros spp.) act as biological vectors

6. SENKAKU ISLANDS

Current Context: A China Coast Guard formation conducted a “rights enforcement patrol” near the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands, escalating tensions with Japan.
