1. NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK

• Observed on: 1st – 7th September every year.

• First observed in India: 1982 by the Food and Nutrition Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development.

• To raise awareness about malnutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and lifestyle diseases.

Current Context: The 14th edition of the India–Thailand Joint Military Exercise Maitree is being held from 1 to 14 September 2025 at the Foreign Training Node, Umroi, Meghalaya.

Current Context: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched the Beta Version of “Adi Vaani”, India’s first AI-powered tribal language translator.

• Developed by: National consortium led by IIT Delhi, with BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Nava Raipur, and Tribal Research Institutes (Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya).

• Supported under: Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh initiative

• Real-time translation (text & speech) between Hindi/English ↔ Tribal languages

4. STATE ENERGY EFFICIENCY INDEX (SEEI) 2024

Current Context: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) released the 6th edition of the State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2024, prepared with the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE).

• Indicators: 66 across sectors – Buildings, Industry, Transport, Agriculture, DISCOMs, Municipal services, Cross-sector initiatives

5. NATIONAL ANNUAL REPORT AND INDEX ON WOMEN’S SAFETY (NARI) 2025

Current Context: The National Annual Report & Index on Women’s Safety (NARI) 2025, released by the National Commission for Women (NCW), highlights the safety conditions of women across 31 cities in India, based on a large-scale survey.
