Explanation:
On 16 March 1846, treaty signed between British and Maharaja Gulab Singh of Jammu, transferring to him all hill country between Ravi and Indus including Chamba. Later on Chamba was excluded from the terms of treaty. It was due to patriotic zeal of Wazir Bhaga who reached to Lahore where he met Col. Lawrence, who negotiated with Raja of Jammu.
